Sparta Portfolio Management Inc. was established in Istanbul on March 11, 2024, following the establishment permit obtained from the Capital Markets Board (CMB) on February 7, 2024. The company's registered capital ceiling is 150 million Turkish Lira, with an initial capital of 30 million Turkish Lira, divided into 30 million shares, each with a nominal value of 1 Turkish Lira, all registered.
Our company is currently in the process of applying for an operating license from the CMB.
The primary activity of our company is the establishment and management of investment funds. Additionally, we manage the portfolios of investment trusts, pension funds, and foreign collective investment schemes established abroad. Sparta Portfolio Management manages portfolios consisting of capital market instruments through portfolio management agreements with domestic and foreign private and legal entities, acting as an agent in accordance with the regulations.
Our company can also engage in investment advisory activities and represent clients as an agent in areas where investment advisory services are permitted.
Sparta Portfolio Management Inc. is a single-shareholder joint-stock company, with all shares owned by Taner Özarslan, who has 33 years of experience in the financial sector and serves as the Chairman of the Board of Directors and General Manager. Taner Özarslan, a graduate of Kadıköy Anatolian High School and Marmara University Faculty of Economics, began his career in capital markets in 1991. Until 2017, he held senior management positions in various investment firms and banks, dealing with investment funds, corporate finance, and the sale of research and investment products. In 2017, he founded Sparta & Co., a company engaged in corporate finance activities such as mergers and acquisitions, IPO consulting, and project financing. Sparta & Co., a member of the International Valuation Standards Council (IVSC), was awarded the title of Turkey's Best Corporate Finance Firm by Acquisition International in 2022 and 2023.
